The AQ-50 is a screening tool that measures traits associated with autism. A high score does not mean you have autismit indicates that you may benefit from a formal assessment. Many people have elevated autistic traits without meeting criteria for a diagnosis. Only a qualified professional can make a diagnostic determination.

The Autism Quotient (AQ-50) was developed by Simon Baron-Cohen and colleagues at the Autism Research Centre, Cambridge University. It measures five domains of traits associated with autism:
The AQ measures traits that exist on a continuum in the general population. While most people score below 26, some people with high scores may function well without support, while others may benefit from assessment and accommodations.
